April 9: Restore It: Repair Something Broken
Is something at home broken? Does something need repairs at the office, in your school locker, or in the car? This is the perfect day to fix it since today’s Lenten challenge is to repair something broken!
What are repair are you considering? Some repairs may need super glue (like the vase in the living room). Some might need some serious TLC (like our relationships), while others may need a good old-fashioned roll of duct tape. Lots of things around us are broken and we’ve ignored them as if they’d fix themselves. It’s time to get out the toolbox.
Jesus spent a bunch of time fixing people, situations, and misunderstandings. He fixed things by showing us how to love God, other people, and even ourselves. Jesus used kind words, abundant grace, and the power of God to repair us from brokenness.
Today, let’s find something to repair. There’s plenty of things to choose from so don’t delay any longer!
“Afterward I will return and restore the fallen houseof David. Iwill rebuild its ruins and restore it,so that the rest of humanity might seek the Lord, including the Gentiles—all those I have called to be mine. The Lord has spoken—He who made these things known so long ago.” (Acts 15:16-18 & Amos 9:11-12, NLT).
